Tau, Tau, and more Tau!

I picked up the 400th issue of White Dwarf this weekend. Since I owned the 300th issue and I consider that the pinnacle of the White Dwarfs, I was hoping this issue could match it.

This issue was mostly Tau Empire as the new release. In comparison to 300, it really didn't look at the history of White Dwarf and it didn't have anything that makes it memorable. Custodian Guard, Movie Marines, and Blood Ravens made their appearance in 300. In 400, it felt like the standard WD of this year with a lot more pages dedicated to Tau and Golden Daemons.

As for the Tau information, there were a lot of pages dedicated to it. It stood out that the Tau was the focal point for 400. It does make you wonder if the importance of 400 WDs to the editing staff was understood. There wasn't anything in this one that appealed to the inner Imperial. This issue was really for the Greater Good.
