Hobby Time

Short attention span is getting the better of me these last 2 months.  Between work, family, and the Star Wars RPG, there hasn't been enough time allocated to enjoy miniatures gaming, let alone painting.  This past Sunday saw some X-Wings blowing up TIEs and a couple of Deadzone terrain being built.

In other news, I picked up some Classic Battletech Unseen Battlemechs.  There are 13 of 16 plastic molded Battlemechs.
Who knows, maybe we'll get in some Classic Battletech.

Star Wars Saga RPG

Yeah, you read that title right, I've been playing and occupying myself with the older Star Wars Saga RPG.

We're running a campaign that's set post-Order 66, not long after Darth Vader was saved.  I decided on a Kel Dor Jedi, a former Padawan on the run when his Master was killed in a Vader ambush.

From a modeling perspective, there really isn't any good models out there to portray a Kel Dor.  Knight Models (from Spain) has a Ki-Adi-Mundi model that's a good starting point to model one.
Here's a Jedi Master from the Clone Wars cartoon.
This is a model that I've thought about as a starting point.  It is a nice model, but the work to modify the head may be extensive.

This model is another candidate.  Modifying this one will also be extensive. However, the pose is closer to what I want, and the armored plates give him a look that's more in line with my image of a post-Clone Wars Mercenary (née Jedi) look.

Deadzone unpacking - Enforcers

The "Heroes" of Deadzone, the Enforcers.  These models are a bit different than the other factions.  They appear to be the plastic resin and not hard plastic.  It has been acknowledged that the hard plastic design wasn't ready, but the remaining models appear to resin plastic too.

Deadzone unpacking - The Plague

Here are the villains to the game, The Plague.  These models range from huge to small.

Deadzone unpacking - Rebs

So here are some pictures of the Mantic game miniatures.  This is the Rebs faction.  At the moment, I'm missing one more set of minis.  These miniatures are of a hard plastic, similar to what you would see in most boardgames.  There are some components for assembly for each of the figures.

Deadzone unpacking - Marauders

Here are the space orks of Warpath, the Marauders.  These are hefty models.

Deadzone unpacking

Here are some pictures of the Deadzone box.  Specifically, this is the game mat and the extras, Deadzone MVP and the Mercenaries.  The miniatures are of a hard plastic and are fairly light.

2014 Resolutions

I went over my 2013 Resolution status in a previous post.  For 2014, I'm going to attempt to go the opposite direction and make easier and achievable Resolutions.  I'm going to have 4 Resolutions to work to for my hobbies.
